Dr. Dino Distefano is co-founder and CEO of Monoidics Ltd, a London-based high-tech start-up providing automatic formal verification and software analysis to safety critical industries. He is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow and a Lecturer of Software Verification at Queen Mary, University of London. Dino is known for his breakthrough work on automatic source code verification based on the mathematical theory called Separation Logic. He designed Space Invader, the first separation logic program analyser remarkably able to prove complex properties of safety and security in industrial software. Space Invader was shortlisted for the 2008 Research Project of the Year Award of the Times Higher Education magazine. The effectiveness of the novel source code analysis he developed substantially impacted academia and industry. His ideas inspired researchers from many universities around the globe (including Princeton, Berkeley, and Cambridge) who used them to build their own program analysis systems. Microsoft Research developed an internal software tool based on Dino's work. Dino is co-author of over 20 scientific publications and a keynote speaker in major international conferences.
