Bill Murphy is the Managing Director of Next Generation Access, BT Group, responsible for driving the commercial roll-out and adoption of high-speed broadband technologies across the UK.During his 20 years at BT Bill has held senior roles in the UK, Europe and North America. Most recently he was Managing Director, BT Business, responsible for BT’s relationship with 1,000,000 small businesses in the UK. Prior to that Bill was CEO of our businesses in Ireland and worked closely with DETI in Northern Ireland on the first generation roll out of broadband to 99 per cent of the population. This built on his experience as Managing Director, BT Regions, where he played a key role in the rollout of first generation broadband, setting up 84 public private partnerships across Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.Bill lives in London with his wife and two children.
